Macho “White Buffalo Peace Ale”" moniker probably taken from guitar rocker Ted Nugent, who may imbibe this when hunting season is over. Lackluster hops and faintly sweet grains need better briskness for that cool assumption, instead of staying watery, foamy, and indistinguishable.

One-pint champagne-bottled premium microbrew with cork set up honoring now-deceased bohemian Grateful Dead leader Jerry Garcia. Highly carbonated, citrus-scented, opaque gold, fluffy-headed draught maintains tart yellow fruiting, dewy watercrescent lightness, and pleated cider-like souring. Only produced for limited time (circa ‘97), each bottle numbered and signed by brewer.

Though in need of better up-front assertion, dry English Pale Ale does register fine honey-glazed orange sourness, lilting alcohol-burnt Scotch malt tingle, and sweet mocha-hazelnut embrace. But petty red fruit drear underlies thin hop acridity.

Approachable dark strong ale furnishes soothing butterscotch resilience as white yeast particles amble through viscous brown body. Thick caramel malting enriches chocolate-vanilla resonance penetrating sugar cookie accessory, precarious raisin-prune-melon blip, and spicy clove-cardamom-nutmeg snip.

Sans traditional wheat, barley, and lactose ingredients, surprisingly sufficing tawny-hued gluten-free Belgian ale retains chewy caramel malt richness and sharp herbal-spiced hop resonation. Inviting whiskey-barleywine waft enhances sour prune, tart grape, plum wine, and cider illusions. Sorghum, millet, and rice never tasted so well together.

Bock-like deep amber hue and mild turbidity enrich perky barleymalt incentive as sinewy yeast sweetness countering spiced hop bittering enlivens overall oeuvre for medium-bodied bliss. Brewery defunct: 2006.

Unassuming floral aroma, pleasant citric hop bite, and vague caramel malt sweetness become indistinct. Not a serious contender, but inoffensive.

Coppery turbid Belgian-styled strong pale ale rushes crystallized ginger initiation across mouthwash-y eucalyptus-spearmint follow-up, allowing honeyed yeast sinew to embellish sour candy center and delicate peach caress. Sullen banana-pear-green apple combo invades oaken earthy mustiness as white pepper, black currant, and floral notes speckle flatly carbonated dried-fruit moldiness to citric-hop embittered finish almost sabotaged by oncoming astringency.

Nondescript amber places sterile toasted malt facade atop barren wheat spine, narrow tobacco incline, and oncoming green tea bitterness as caramelized sugar recession drops off acrid aluminum-cardboard siding.

Heavily carbonated musty-fruited amber explodes out of the bottle with carbolic hop bitterness and dry orange-apricot-tangerine tartness. But ill-defined sour malts lack appeal.

Damn! The entire ‘organic’ revolution has thus far been plagued by hop acridity and malt blandness. Moderate metallic astringency undermines faint orange-tangerine tartness and barren barley-toasted caramel center of dull drear.
