MAINE ANOTHER ONE

Lightly creamed, ‘intensely hopped,’ and unstylishly yellow-cleared  India Pale Ale goes down smooth for such a bitter seducer. Using the same citric hop profile as Maine’s Weez, its sharp yellow grapefruit peel and rind bittering lingers delicately, yet profoundly, above resinous hop oiling, subtle white-peppered juniper bite and lilting herbal whim. Wispy orange-peeled tangerine, mango, pineapple, lemon and kiwi tropicalia usurped by grandiose grapefruit profile. Ultra smooth.

STEADY HABIT OUR DAILY BREAD IPA

From its murkily chartreuse-hazed hue to its juicy fruited Citra-Galaxy-Topaz hop tandem, this crisply clean well-watered IPA maintains a pervasive grapefruit-peeled orange rind bittering, zesty lemon spritz and sedately bark-dried pine needling. By softening an India Pale Ale’s comparatively harsher hop proclivities and upping the candi-sugared tropical sweetness, the final product’s both sessionable and briskly embittered. Tangy yellow grapefruit, navel orange, mango, guava, passionfruit and papaya illusions abound above the delicate mineral graining.

PROCLAMATION TENDRIL

On tap at Track 84, soothingly approachable moderate-bodied India Pale Ale plies bittersweet citrus fruiting to mild resinous hop oiling and crystal malt sugaring. Subtle orange-peeled grapefruit bitterness allows tangerine, peach, cantaloupe, melon, apple, pear and mango illusions to flourish alongside. Slight vodka burn invigorates juicy fruited finish.

NOLA HOPITOULAS IPA

Pleasant silver-canned moderation maintains stylishly soft tone crossing dewy peat musk of English-styled IPA with citric Amarillo-Simcoe hop bite and resinous piney bittering of American IPA. Mild floral herbage seeps into dainty orange-peeled pink grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, mango and peach tones above muted earthen bottom.

PEEKSKILL SHOTGUN WILLIE IPA

On tap at Ambulance, easygoing moderation may be stylishly soft-toned, but never at the expense of riveting bark-dried yellow grapefruit bittering. Mild Nelson Sauvin hop tropicalia induces orange-peeled pineapple, mango, papaya, passionfruit and peach illusions as well as wispy gooseberry tartness to backup lemony grapefruit finish. Dry-grained rye wheat bottom seems sufficient.

ALPINE DUET

Undeniably awesome West Coast India Pale Ale breaks out the tangy citric-hopped fruitiness, elegant floral-spiced splendor and pungently resinous pine freshness to impress any true beer lover. Sweet navel orange, bitter yellow grapefruit and sour pineapple cut loose initially, followed succinctly by harmonious Valencia orange, clementine, peach, cantaloupe, nectar, tangerine, mango, pear and red apple juicing. A flavorful Simcoe-Amarillo hop adventure sure to please everyone (except lightweights thrown off by its minor aspirin-like astringency).
