Plentiful blood orange tang and zesty yellow grapefruit juicing brighten truly world-class pale ale. Ample tangerine, navel orange, clementine, mango, peach, papaya and guava fruiting gains mild floral-pined hop resin at pale wheat-malted spine. Ultimate sunny day thirst quencher!
Enlighteningly well-designed witbier places white-peppered Belgian yeast inside a floral-spiced citrus setting. Brisk lemon zest brightens lavender tea-like hibiscus, jasmine and chrysanthemum florality as well as light peppercorn seasoning. Honeyed glaze sweetens pineapple, peach and banana subsidies while latent mandarin orange, curacao orange, yellow grapefruit and pineapple illusions flutter by. A complex wit bettering nearly all competitors.
On tap at Bronx Ale House, mild pinkish red-headed, maroon-bodied wild ale brings dark red wine barrel aging to tart hard-candied fruiting. Vinous Zinfandel-Cabernet sedation guards oaken cherry respite as well as polite lemon-limed cranberry, raspberry and boysenberry flirtation above dewy mineral-watered salting.
“Unique” dry-hopped wild ale loads lactobacillus acidity onto lemon-peeled pineapple, guava, mango, peach and papaya tartness and lightly vinous green grape souring. Musty barnyard leathering, musky sour mash and earthen hops increase dry rusticity.
Silken cola-hued ‘robust jobless recovery’ strong ale lacks expectant full-bodied assertion, but not persuasive character. Ashen piney-hopped nuttiness juxtaposes soft-watered cinnamon-spiced floral-fruited opening. Tangy grapefruit, pineapple, cherry and apricot fruitage revs up juicy bubblegum midst. Earthen red and purple grape esters bring mild bourbon-burgundy-port illusions to the surface by soft evergreen finish of limited ’10 release. On tap at Plank Pizza (2016), dark-roasted mocha nuttiness picked up more pronounced earthen hop-charred bittering and less fruit-spiced tangent.
