Phenol light-bodied clear straw bock (with funky pungent scent and creamy texture) hides sneering alcohol trepidation behind hard-candied fig-prune souring, raw honeyed astringency and transparent earthen floral backdrop.

Rich prune swoon and mild curacao orange souring underscore pumpkin-spiced sugar-candied malting of copper-hazed medium body. Latent banana-clove subtlety too withdrawn to upend lusty alcohol resonation.

But that auspicious frontage only readies blissful boozer for roasted hazelnut embarkation, stewed prune strew, and relegated chocolate slip fetchingly consuming brown sugared midst. Fire-roasted peat malts line syrupy cola flow while imminent brandy, barleywine, and cherry jubilee hints caress durable medicinal finish.

Bold Belgian bock brings spiced hop frisk to musty orange peel theme as tannic grape tartness and dry cider pucker settle above wood-soaked cherry finish. Minor acidity haunts ripe raisin prudence, sugared fig frugality, and creamy mocha restraint.

Smooth handcrafted lager retains radiant raisin-esque bock charm as maple-sugared almond-macadamia nuttiness inundates sweet chocolate malting. Creamy mocha finish receives orange-soured cognac kick.

Honeyed wheat aromatics entice rich barley-oats graining, clove-spiced pep, and raisin-fig ascension unexpectedly upstaged by barleywine insistence. Mild caramel malt creaminess fortifies atypical German bock.

Fresh mountain watered helles bock brings lingering hop spice to assertive cracked barley base. However, this is nowhere near ‘extreme’ or original enough to earn its moniker. Stick with Paulaner’s better brews.

Elegant golden amber light bock (a.k.a Stieglbock) with sweet barley-nipped caramel malting, buttery whiskey persuasion, and mild peach glaze gains head-knocking alcohol strength. Reedy hop astringency mars tender cereal-grained finish. Strangely, softer on the tongue than Stiegl’s pils.
