Sweet cocoa influence consumes burnt caramel and smoked barleymalts of moderately creamy fluffy white-headed medium body. Delicate clove spicing counteracts ‘dark’ beer tendencies such as ripe raisin interlude and milky texture. Possibly too ambiguous for wheat beer aficionados.

Pour slowly billowy fluffy-headed wheat beer or risk overt carbonation. Though lightweight and arid, crystal malt sweetness, clove-hopped spritz, dainty floral waltz, and modest vanilla ice cream finish rescue it from mediocrity.

Not necessarily your typical German-styled kristalweizen, lacking initial carbonated thrust, assertive banana backing, and sweet wheat wine-y nose. Never too strong and a tad flat, its roasted barley-wheat essence doused too quickly by watery crispness. Now brewed by Canada’s Big Rock.

Heavily-carbonated Brussels-laced German wheat with soft-hopped lemony banana essence, buttery yeast flow, sweet barley-corn backdrop, and murky  malt liquor aspect. Unexpected mint-clove coercion adds to well-rounded distinctiveness.

Serene gold-hazed German-style wheat beer (later named Texas Wheat) augments soft mocha rim with dry rye enticement. Minor metallic astringency at diminished white wheat-floured finish displaces faint citric tartness and repressed banana-almond merger.

Wisconsin is now the fifth state brewing Spanish Peaks middling selection. This ‘American-styled clear wheat beer,’ quaffed in ’08, lacks specific character. Minor Saaz hop bittering and rinsed-out lemon sourness sidle cardboard-y butterscotch drear. Feigned banana-clove adjuncts whimper to bland carbolic finish.
