PARBO BIER
Inoffensive and non-essential straw-paled moderation brings mild rice-caked sweetness, dry sourdough yeast and cardboard-like malts to its delicate toasted white bread foundation. Light veggie hints and distant lemongrass snip too low in the metallic mix.
POLAR BEER
Bland yellow-paled light-bodied pilsener with salty carbolic hops recalling the South American shoreline and lightly toasted barley reminiscent of cleaner North American lagers. Seltzer-like lemon-limed watering lightens the skunked whiskey malting and Granny Smith apple souring.
SHORT’S PONTIUS ROAD PILSNER
Brisk citric-spiced yellow-hazed Czech-styled dry body pleats compost-wafted lemon-rotted souring with cardboard-like toasted white breading and pungent grassy-hopped lemongrass herbage. Astringent vegetal fungi earthiness and parched maize stalkings never overwhelm sun-dried lemon spoilage.
SMUTTYNOSE VUNDERBAR PILS
Dependable Czech-styled pilsner tosses brisk lemon-seeded tartness and muted lemongrass spicing at mild grassy hop bittering. Dark floral notions, muted vegetal herbing and doughy fresh breading get spread across the buttery saltine backbone.
SOUTHERN TIER EUROTRASH PILZ
Gruff Eastern European-styled corn-grained malt liquor astringency and burly Dutch-like pungent bitterness softened precipitously by doughy yeast sweetness. Grassy-hopped husked wheat dryness contrasts perfumed citrus mildness and mild floral nuance to biscuit-y bottom. Sessionable lawnmower fodder.
SOUTHAMPTON KELLER PILS
Bold copper-hazed German pilsner boasting “unfiltered varietal hops” tosses crisp orange zest, tart lemon-pitted souring and salty white-peppered wood varnishing at resinous hop prickle. Impending cereal-grained sweetness contrasts straw wheat acridity and latent herbal snip. Tertiary sunflower-seeded lemongrass undertones sidle clay-like sourdough finish. Expressive late summer session beer never fails to surprise.
AVERY JOE’S PREMIUM AMERICAN PILSNER
Terrific light-bodied straw-hazed pils contrasts mild bitterness with tingly citric sweetness to perfection. Wafting skunked pungency never negates easygoing grassy-hopped crystal malting. Challah-breaded biscuit, sourdough and flour undertones whisk by arid straw-grained pine-barked astringency and sudsy carbolic Seltzer fizzing. Docile lemon custard, key lime pie and marmalade illusions fill floral backdrop. A simple soft-toned pilsner with some legs.
(CAPE ANN) FISHERMAN’S HONEY PILSNER
On tap at Barcade, traditional Czech pils relates well to German dry lager and English ESB styles. Lemon-dried raw honey souring picks up herbal harvest graining, allowing grassy-hopped alfalfa, whey and porridge illusions to infiltrate sourdough bottom.
RADEBERGER PILSNER
Musk-like German pils brings doughy stale-breaded mineral graining to corn-husked lemon rot peculiarity. Sharp Saaz hop grassing subsumes weirdly herbaceous whim and metallic honey-soured apple-peach depletion to wet cardboard backdrop.
ORANGE BLOSSOM PILSNER
Perfectly bland summer afternoon lawnmower fare with sticky-tongued orange blossom honey mildness above thin white wheat base gets lost in phenol hop astringency. Trifling orange-tangerine soaping, vegetal maize-dried snip and cardboard backdrop lag behind. Brewed by South Carolina’s Thomas Hooker for Orlando-based nanobrewery.
EAST COAST BEACH HAUS PILSNER
On tap at Andy’s Corner Bar, vigorous pre-prohibition-styled pale body reaches creamy honeyed malt summit. Sharply salted grassy-hopped spicing underscores corn-sugared cereal graining contrasting tart lemon-peeled yellow-fruited bittering. A well-balanced full-bodied changeup that’s more robust and flavorful than typical light pilsner fare.
