Instead of being a fine “alternative to table wines” (as the label proudly proclaims), its saltwatered lemon fizz, suspect corny grain mesh and baked breadstick base put it closer to a Noble-hopped Mexican brew sans the spicy tingle.

Better in bigger oilcan than plain bottle. Dour amber-grained hop toasting and slim nuttiness create complacent dry bitterness. Unsettling tinny finish arrives if warmed over. Needs more all around character. On tap, creamier malt sweetness and brisker alcohol-tinged lemon-soured swoon greaten potential.

Soapy pale-toned citric-sunned lager lacks body, sliding down throat gently despite healthy alcohol content. Vapid malts turn turpey before wood-smoked variance saves prissy lemon-fizzed finish.

Plain pale body lacks head and body, posing initial concern for extremely light, unassuming Croatian. Fizzy lemon hop frontage, sourdough breaded continuance, and husked grain constraint coalesce to washed-out off-dry diacetyl finish undermining weak wheat biscuit essence.

Well-rounded mildly-grained lager perfect for the Bud crowd. Unobtrusive hop presence lightens roasted caramel and wheat cereal sweetness.

Though possibly the best Canadian dry beer tried yet, lacks pizzazz, spunk, and specific flavoring. Moderate corn-dried grains form on the tongue, remaining gentle at creamy butter-sweet finish. Smooth metallic glaze informs astringent hops.

Metallic dark amber pale lager coats smoked malt sweetness with orange citrus tartness and off-dry hop-blotched alcohol-burnt astringency, finishing like a tinny Copper Ale. Rye, fig, and herbal nuances perk up dry barleywine luster lightened by brisk water flow.

Fragrant maize sweetness, wheat-chaffed oats dryness, and grassy-hopped frayed edge define straw-hazed pale lager. Slight yeast sinew shields quaint bittersweet lemon-grapefruit rush.

Expansive Erie Canal lager immersed by pithy yeast sediment gains signature Scotch malt sweetness as orange souffle tang leads to lime-y lemon pith finish that nicely balances up-front sweetening with tartly puckered sourness. Brewery defunct: 2001.

Bland straw-cleared cumulous-headed dry lager with polite rye malt palate, thin resinous hop bitterness, minor floral stint, and moderate creaminess gets cloy despite pungently skunked waft. Misleading 5% alcohol volume vaporized by metallic watering that wouldn’t scare away novices. Once again, Sleeman finishes below Molson in yet another style category.

Musty white wine-wafted clear-toned lightweight mired by watery blandness. Frugal tart lemon dryness turns cloy by pedestrian grassy-hopped finish. Softer and paler than paltry second-rate pilsners.

Grain bitterness is just too light to carry paper thin yeast sweetness and soft creamy malt follow-up. Simple, unassuming resin-hopped finish gives it the edge over mass produced macrobrews. Brewery defunct: 2001.
