On tap at d.b.a.’s, approachable Belgo-American blend (renamed City Rocker circa 2018) brings candi-sugared crystal malting to uniform grapefruit, orange, peach and pineapple tanginess as well as spritzy lemon zest. Crisply carbolic setting adds pep.
Adequate American IPA/ Belgian wit mix nearly lost in nebulous phenolic blur as bubbly lemon-spiced fizziness riddles herbal perfumed floral whim above frail white bread spine. Carbolic citric finish gets a tad soapy, but there’s enough hop resin to reinforce its brisk lemony orange tang.
On tap at The Oath, simple “ballpark ready” Czech-styled pils retains clean, crisp, dry mouthfeel. Spritzy citrus spiced briskness gains dank earthen malt graining, herbal grassy hop astringency and mild floral daub.
