Since 1713, Welch brewers have perfected and refined this simply marvelous full-bodied ale. While difficult to classify, its straightforward malt prosperity secures off dry hop lightness and non-sweetened mineral grain assertion. Best of all, it packs quite an alcoholic wallop.

FISCHER D’ALSACE BITTER BEER
LAKEFRONT E.S.B. ORGANIC ALE
Exceedingly dry well-carbonated bright gold bitter ale retains endless toasted malt character, sour citric tartness, white grape esters, and bottom-heavy clumped yeast sediment. Light pomegranate dusting converges with earthen grain mustiness, lemony hard-candied parch, and flimsy white peach tinge at finish. Vinegary vegetal tag never interferes.

ROGUE WHITE CRANE BITTER ALE
Easy drinkin’ copper-toned bitter (a.k.a. Rogue Oregon Golden Ale) receives polite spruce hop frontage and mild toasted barley continuance, settling into clean watered sweet malt finish. A fitting session beer for milder thirsts fluffing tardy honeyed wheat against concealed grapefruit-quince undertone.
(UNICORN) ROBINSON’S DOUBLE HOP PREMIUM ALE
(MCAUSLAN) FRONTENAC EXTRA SPECIAL PALE ALE
ADNAMS SUFFOLK SPECIAL BITTER
Dry wheat-husked toasted hop sass and chalky caramel malting seduce laid-back soft water flow as aromatic tobacco-peat earthiness lingers. Secondary rye-pumpernickel breading and wet cedar sweetness recede to smoked wood tinge. Surprisingly lacks advertised bitterness though redeeming novice appeal is undeniable.
