Tender, softly calibrated, milder hopped change of pace away from thicker, richer, more complex rivals like Ipswich IPA. Serve to more attenuated pale ale and lager fans.

Fleeting cinnamon-spiced apple-peach-pumpkin pie delectability fades to less prominent pine-needled woody-hopped grapefruit peel bitterness. Recessive chocolate-cocoa malting sweetens minor tea-tobacco tease to bread-crusted biscuit spine. Rudimental pasty flavoring doesn’t deteriorate as badly as other Dundee brews manage to. 2010 re-tasting: Candi-sugared yellow-fruited malting contrasted lemon-dropped tartness and gin-like juniper berry bittering.

Pleasant floral-fruited sweetness envelops Cascade-hopped peach-gourd sash and soft-watered purity of well-balanced medium body.

Golden-hued moderation bogged down by distant fruit fragrance, unassuming mocha malt trepidation, and tepid burnt wood tones goes astray of traditional IPA values. Better head, fuller grain rim, and stronger alcohol content don’t make up for nebulous make-up.

Stellar orange-nickel-hued India Pale Ale with floating yeast sediment compares favorably to Stone IPA, though drier fruitiness and thicker grain bottom may tip scales in its favor. Spruce hop sweetness develops residual floral bitterness as alcohol warmth amplifies, leaving stewed prune and bruised orange variance in its wake.

Water-softened English-styled IPA lacks expected rich malt assertion. Septic blandness (instead of lusty blood-like or wood burnt tenor) extinguishes mild prune, nut, and orange notes. Bitter hop moderation lost amongst charcoal-burnt wood tone. Only when warmed does any chocolate show through.
