Translucent coppery amber ale celebrates 25 years brewing circa 2004, boasting full-on barley roast and caramelized wheat sweetness girding soured lemon-orange-apricot pinch. But paltry hop bitterness nuzzling sullen grain finish lowers potential.

Musty barley essence curtails earthy minerals, chocolate malts, corn sugar remnant, and nutty undercurrent. Subtle butterscotch and dark citrus hidden beneath pliant pilsner-embittered spice-hopped finish.

Richly expressive honeyed wheat surge immerses roasted barleymalt sweetness and butternut-vanilla illusions of cloudy amber-hued winner. Tangy apricot-tangerine-nectarine amiability adds juicy sub-texture.  Brewery defunct: 2009.

Creamy barleymalt-fronted pale ale ultimately lacks body, as unassuming off-dry graining and paltry fruited backing will appeal to amateurs only.

Bottled by Mercury Brewing, this well hopped citric-embittered pale body retains lemon rind, orange peel, and unripe grapefruit-peach tang deepening raw-honeyed medicinal stipulation, long-lasting black currant resolve and coarse coal aftertaste. Metallic oxidation tucked beneath hay-grass appeasement.

Musty grain holding and beckoning barleymalt sweetness convey lager sensibility, but spicy orange peel aroma, compressed citrus midst, and persistent hop bitterness place this firmly in pale ale territory. Not as organic or busy as most first-rate West Coast brews, however. Brewery defunct: 2003.

Crude barley-strewn pale body with mellow buttery mocha flow and sugary caramel chocolate sweetness gains prune ripeness, but character and consistency lack. Cardboard grains nearly ruin pleasant earthen hop finish. A bit too light and watery to be seriously competitive English ale.

An ordinary (despite Special tag) golden ale lacking specificity and intent. Nebulous hop bitterness, derelict yellow fruit tartness, and faded carbonation dim its chances. Brewery defunct: 2004.

Closer to light-bodied India Pale Ale than dry ‘paile’ ale, this goes down easy thanks to crisp water consistency, pleasant malt sweetness, and tingling hop bitterness. But lack of distinction deters off-dry finish. Brewery defunct: 2000.

Sweet whiskey aroma pervades highly carbonated, well rounded pale ale perhaps closer to red ale with its hop pop, grain sharpness, and creamy caramel undercurrent. Sour yeast urgency adds depth.
