Just as Brewery Hill’s Cherry Wheat benefits from natural ingredients, this red ale has distinct raspberry tartness and overall fruity essence. It’s kind of creamy and soda-like, keeping the delicate honeyed wheat flavor in check ’til moderate fruit-spiced finish.

Pronounced raspberry waft introduces sagging dry-bodied dusty rose-hued Belgian-styled fruit ale. Muted artificial raspberry flavor barely rises above fizzy nature as perfume-y floral perk, pink grapefruit hint, and rose’ glint fail to overcome minor acidity. Needs better yeast penetration.

Sharp raspberry abundance crowds nose and mouth as mildly bitter red-tinted Belgian knockoff gains sour-candied citric resonance. Wheat wine inducement sifts through heavy carbonation and foamy head. Happily, more unique than peculiar.

Bluegrass State middleweight with full-frontal raspberry assault competing against fizzy hop flow that isn’t so pronounced it affects fruitiness. Firm caramel malt finish knocks back tart berry tendencies, interfering with setback honeyed wheat influence.

Formerly brewed by Oxford Brewery, this newer version, “fermented with real raspberries,” seems worthier. Tart raspberry theme never overwhelms mineral grain outline, cider-y tinge, and seltzer-like carbonation, but needs better wheat resolve.

Pronounced raspberry essence, full-bodied malt-hopped swagger, and soft wheat nuance complement nectar nicety to fizzy hop finish. Fruity ale lovers will knock these down instantly. For those disliking fructose-injected brews, this may be peculiar, but grain thickness and teensy spicing may win them over.

Cloudy pale yellow dry beer lacks expected wheat sustenance, but boasts wonderful light-bodied raspberry spritz and aroma. Easy flowing apricot, blueberry, lemon, and unripe peach hints decorate the corners.

Despite surprising absence of ‘wintry’ spicing and lack of rich ‘brown’ ale depth, this “perfectly fruited” 2007 ale goes down like maple-sugared Cherry Coke. Syrupy raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry sweetness embraces red-black cherry salience as caramelized molasses malts thicken soda flow. Dry tobacco, hazelnut, and pecan scurry through twiggy wood bottom.

Dull musty-fruited ’06 ‘Unfiltered Offering’ with lazy hazy amber translucence retains soapy raspberry sourness that never takes hold. Parched cranberry-grapefruit pucker and green apple tartness linger faintly above frail white breaded wheat-grass base. Dismal carbolic hop fizz jeopardizes latent blanched rosé illusion. ’12 re-tasting: washed-out Seltzer fizz immensely disrupted orange-dried raspberry theme.

Consumed at nearby Indian’s Peak after four-wheeling Colorado switchback trails, this fair hazy golden medium-bodied fluff lacks expedient raspberry rasp, sturdy cracked wheat spine, and proper carbolic hop bittering. Perfumed raspberry extract sweetness too washed out.

Tart stone fruit aroma and dry-grained assertiveness mired by ripened bittersweet raspberry mustiness and astringent cranberry subsidy. Pungent barleymalts lie flat in the distance below cracked wheat slab. Brewery defunct: 2001.
