PIETRA AMBER LAGER
From the isle of Corsica comes this 8 ounce 6% alcohol medium bodied lager. Curiously similar to grain-based hop-spiced Middle American fodder, settling into pungent honey roasted malt astringency and lulling sorghum dissonance. Meek powdered chestnut backdrop, indifferent almond wine tweak, and meager smokiness ruined by tinny setback.
PIEBALGA MINHAUZEN (LAGER)
Fine gold-clouded Latvian lager brings fast-hitting hop fizz to wheat-cracked wet grass surge and rich barley alleviation. Sweet floral cameo envelops mild orange rind bittering before watery finish depletes grain alcohol wisp.
PIAST PREMIUM LAGER
Middling moderate-bodied pale lager with sweet barley-rice graining and ticklish carbolic fizz soaking up sugary malting. Predictable, simple, soapy. Serve to light pilsner enthusiasts only.
PETE’S WICKED WINTER AMBER ALE
Tart raspberry aroma surrounds cinnamon and nutmeg-spiced holiday-styled amber ale. Sharp grains battle back summery fruit essence, but malts falter badly at coy finish. Creatively meshed, though inessential.
PETE’S WICKED WANDERLUST CREAM ALE
Velvety smooth, lively carbonated, light amber ale lacks expected creaminess as dry wheat grass base encounters miserly vegetal spell, yucky diacetyl swerve, and dank lemony metallic astringency.
PETE’S WICKED SUMMER BREW LAGER W/ NATURAL LEMON
Natural lemon flavor influences snazzy citric hop mouthfeel and casual sour wheat breading, but sweet malted grain predictability flattens citrus notes by watery finish.
PETE’S WICKED STRAWBERRY BLONDE
Golden blonde ale with natural strawberry flavor matching pungent berry aroma. But fruited aftertaste is not as sweet as the first swallow would indicate, growing stale over the course of a bottle. As is the case with all Pete’s ales, it’s way better on tap (where a maple-like residue tickles the senses).
PETE’S WICKED SIGNATURE PILSNER
Short on flavor and lacking aroma, this “golden true Euro-style pilsner” gains strength from soft-textured spicy-hopped grapefruit bitterness. Crystalline water flow reminiscent of some Canadian ales. But carbolic nature wipes away mineral graining.
PETE’S WICKED RUBY BROWN ALE
Meek ruby amber re-interpretation of original Brown Ale disappoints as perky hop fizz registers above disintegrative barleymalt plainness and meandering cherry-pear-quince disillusions. Skittish astringent finish blunts red-fruited nature bereft of proper grain modulation.
PETE’S WICKED RED RUSH AMERICAN RED ALE
Moderate creaminess, raspberry murk, and barley-wheat resonation weaken by dank malt finish. Dark fruity overtones subside rapidly and a lack of spiciness deters its promise. Closer to a simple lager with only faded red ale overtones.
