Juicy orange-peeled grapefruit tang and zesty lemon sunshine gently crest above toasted oats sugaring. Vibrant mango, tangerine, pineapple and peach subsidy increases fruit salad pleasantry. Mild spruce tones further sweeten delightfully brisk summertime moderation, contrasting its subtle resinous piney hop bittering. An easygoing tropical fruit punch.
Sharp piney citrus entry brightens floral-bound juniper berry bittering over dry wheat-flaked pale malting. Pine-combed yellow grapefruit-peeled orange rind bite picks up candied pineapple, mango and peach illusions by the juicy fruit finish.
Though lacking the creamy vanilla sweetness and juicier tropical fruiting of competing milkshake IPA’s, its ‘matcha’-like green tea leafing brings subtle bittering to candied citrus tartness above light toasted white breading. “Unorthodox” limited edition (2019) West Coast/ New England-styled IPA merger slightly overstates its ‘experimental’ aspect. Though bright lemon-peeled orange and pineapple tanginess brings solid West Coast influence, its sourly acidic New England styling seems adrift as limey passionfruit, vinous green grape tannins and candied pineapple tartness never fully integrate. Mild lemongrass snip also informs mildly hopped moderation.
“Aggressively laidback” India Pale Ale with tart blood orange juicing receives mildly sour lemon pucker. Sedate pineapple, mango and guava tropicalia secures blood orange adjunct sufficiently while sugary vanilla respite sweetens the back end.
On tap at Ambulance, straightforward IPA loads tangy yellow grapefruit and navel orange juiciness upon sugary crystal malts and mild grassy hop astringency in convincingly mannered way. Resilient citrus spicing gains latent peach, pineapple and honeydew sweetness to contrast resinous floral herbage.
Brisk lemony grapefruit sunshine, candied orange sweetness and sour gooseberry tartness anchor basic moderate-bodied IPA. Resinous hop astringency stays low contrasting bready pale malting.
On tap at Poor Henry’s, sugary cotton-candied surge countered by lactic yogurt-soured zing as zesty lemon spritz bursts forth. A lovable moderate-medium-bodied sweet-toothed confection.
