Strangely, (sometimes) brewed by Moosehead instead of Molson, this 5% alcohol lager has dank malt aroma, pervasive barley sweetness, and thin hop ripples, but lacks crisp, clean water texture prevalent in other Molson brews.

MOLSON KICK LAGER
Tedious fizz-watered travesty with undetectable guarana (a natural caffeine source). Clear-toned pearly headed dread picks up minor phenol bittering from slenderest maize jot and barnyard earthiness. Where’s the damn Kick?
MOLSON ICE
Musty hop aroma followed by weak corn malt souring and bland grain sweetness before cloying finish recedes into metallic deluge. Superficial ‘ice’ brew meanders.
MOLSON GOLDEN LAGER
Distant pungent malt liquor scent nearly clashes with initial dry hop fizz and sweet barley thrust of soft-headed amber. Sugary sweetness borders on cloy and sour yeast backdrop can’t save premature finish. Better in the ’70s.
MOLSON EXPORT (RED) ALE
Spry, well carbonated, with snazzy bite, this primo red ale is Molson’s best bet. The right amount of red-fruited mineral-grained frontage, fermented yeast sweetness, and spice hop bitterness addict the senses with thirst quenching affirmation. Yet it seems so simple and uncomplicated in brewing approach. As subtle carbonation settles, polite creamy finish surfaces alongside surge of alcohol potency. An enigmatic winner.
MOLSON EXTRA OLD STOCK
Short-lived ’06 old ale (a.k.a. E.O.L.) probably no different than O’Keefe version. 6% alcohol-fueled medium body has smoothly unassuming grain flow and crisp water texture perfect for straight-ahead pilsner or Bavarian lager fans.
MOLSON DRY
Though possibly the best Canadian dry beer tried yet, lacks pizzazz, spunk, and specific flavoring. Moderate corn-dried grains form on the tongue, remaining gentle at creamy butter-sweet finish. Smooth metallic glaze informs astringent hops.
MOLSON CANADIAN LIGHT LAGER
Decent straw-hued lightweight from mass market brewer allows dry J & B-like Scotch malts and rye wheat to influence doughy abundance. Wheat cracker sweetness and toasted barley crease peak through wet-grassed hay-horsehide earthiness.
MOLSON CANADIAN LAGER
In a sea of mass produced Molson beer and ale styles, this bland Seltzer-fizzed pale lager is truly indistinguishable. Murky hop musk, toned down grain pungency and scant perfumed citrus slurp lead to soapy corn sugar finish (with honeyed biscuit bottom). Gets metallic as bottle drains.
MOGOLLON SUPERSTITION PALE ALE
Delectable dry-hopped grapefruit-orange frontage picks up candied malt sweetness dotting pine-needled spruce bottom of golden-hazed medium body. Earthen floral finish increases prickly hop bite twofold.
MOGOLLON HEFFEVENOM BAVARIAN WHEAT
From Arizona’s high country, initial dark spice blast disguises oncoming banana-clove expectancy. Sourdough midst accompanies dried wheat base before yellow-fruited finish fades to quietly soured orange peel sedation.
MOGOLLON APACHE TROUT STOUT
Admirable mahogany-hued medium body leisurely punctuates iced coffee frontage with roasted hop blackening and dry chocolate resin. Vanilla and maple illusions deepen steadfast cola-macadamia nuttiness beneath.
