STONE 26TH ANNIVERSARY IMPERIAL IPA
On tap at Kitchen & Beer Bar, divergent hopped-up West Coast IPA (with unassuming 9.7% ABV) stays dry as dank pine resin seeps into dehydrated grapefruit-mango conflux, raw-honeyed orange blossom musk, dark floral mustiness and mild black peppering. More abstruse than complex.
STONE RUINTEN TRIPLE IPA
On tap at Kitchen & Beer Bar, ‘recklessly hoppy recipe’ celebrates 10 year anniversary of fabulous Ruination. But its muskily citric Centennial-Citra hop blend and the original’s piney floral perfuming are lacking. Instead, its candied orange stead never overcomes the iodine-stiffened boozy ethers.
MAGNIFY VI (6TH ANNIVERSARY IMPERIAL IPA)
On tap at Kitchen & Beer Bar, 6th anniversary IPA floats bold 8.5% alcohol ethers thru clean cryo-hopped tropical fruit lacquering and mildly creamed vanilla froth. Lemony pineapple zesting, tannic green grape souring, limey bergamot orange tartness and fuzzy peach tang gain floral sweetness to contrast earthen pine whim.
SWEETWATER 420 IMPERIAL IPA
Original 420 given bolder intensity. Sugary mango, peach and pineapple tanginess outdoes orange-peeled grapefruit zesting (and syrupy pear snip plus tangerine-clementine tease) as grassy-hopped astringency and resinous pine stabilize above contrasting honeyed wheat base.
THREE FLOYDS CAT DATE DOUBLE IPA
On tap at Taphouse 15, despite mass acclaim, intensely bitter and brusquely dry Imperial IPA’s somewhat harsh aggression seems off-putting. Musky orange-oiled grapefruit pith bittering gains fungi musting and tannic blackcurrant phenols.
FROST LUSH DOUBLE IPA
On tap at Growler & Gill, lovely easygoing moderation with muted grapefruit-peeled orange, peach, pineapple, mango and tangerine tanginess providing just enough sunshine for spruce-tipped pine resin and oily cannabis herbage above delicate pale malt sugaring.
GOOSE ISLAND SECRET BEER HUG HAZY IPA
Sessionable hazy golden NEIPA retains lightly embittered orange-peeled grapefruit, pineapple and passionfruit tang as well as mild mango-salted guava, papaya and gooseberry souring above biscuity bread crusted base.

Vibrant soft-toned pale golden NEIPA placates spicy orange-peeled grapefruit, pineapple, peach and cherry tang with slightly soured white grape, gooseberry and guava tartness caressing mild pine resin above dainty caramel malting.

Sturdily booze-doused 9.9% ABV DDH IIPA brightens orange-peeled mango, peach and pineapple tang with lemony yellow grapefruit sunshine as mild gooseberry-guava souring settles softly. Vodka-licked citrus continuance gains resinous piney hop lacquering and muted herbage over biscuity pilsner malt base.
GOOSE ISLAND NEON BEER HUG IPA
Crushable straw yellowed West Coast-styled IPA with “10,000 volts of flavor” lets vanilla cream frothing soak up mellow yellow grapefruit and orange rind bittering plus floral-spiced mango, pineapple, passionfruit and papaya tang as piney hop resin adds slight coniferous whim backed by dry pale malts.
TEN BENDS CREAM PUFF WAR PEACH DOUBLE IPA
Robust milkshake IPA with lactic-soured vanilla creaming places tangy peach puree adjunct alongside orange-peeled yellow grapefruit zesting and spicy pineapple-mango-papaya juicing above pasty honeyed pale malting. Cling peach syruping absorbed by brisk citrus continuance and latent evergreen minting. On tap, exotic peaches ‘n cream Milkshake IPA with lactic milk sugaring retains honey-malted vanilla swagger and juicy nectar fruiting to contrast yogurt-like passionfruit-pineapple-guava souring.
