Milky fudged toffee influence picks up distinct nuttiness overriding chocolate chip cookie, hazelnut coffee, marzipan-pasted butterscotch, and sugared fig sweetness as well as a symphony of secondary flavors. Black chocolate, vanilla, and maple undertones mesh well with chestnut, almond, and pecan illusions at midst as imminent rum raisin climax tags creamy hazelnut-candied mocha finish. Absolutely splendid.

SAGRES PRETA DARK LAGER
Cascading brownish tan bubbles provide nice visual accessory while pouring frothy-headed ruby-maroon Schwarzbier. Way too slick on the blanched backend (and a tad phenol besides) to recommend to serious dark lager admirers. Yet chalky nuttiness, black chocolate coarseness, fig-licorice twinge and evasive blackened wood bitterness nearly make up for poor cardboard finish.
ST. BERNARDUS ABT 12
Dry whiskeyed cherry frontage, persistent raisin-prune conflux, cotton-candied sugaring and cinnamon-spiced molasses sweetness envelop sparkling chestnut-hued barleywine-like Abbey ale. Pleasantly resonating dried fruiting overrides brown-riced rye-wheat backbone. Hefty 10% alcohol volume is sure to frazzle brain.

SAMUEL ADAMS CHERRY WHEAT
Sourly juicy Bing cherry thrust and sweet grenadine tingle prevail over carbolic soda-like sugaring to cracked wheat spine. Floral red grape wisp, recessive lemony orange tang, and lithe mulberry illusions add further summertime luster to superb fruit beer. Beats cherry wine. A fine malt beverage Dr. Pepper fans will appreciate.

SAMUEL SMITH’S ORGANICALLY BREWED ALE
SAPPORO BLACK STOUT DRAFT
Odd. An imported Asian dark beer in sturdy 22-ounce gold and black can effectively re-creating Euro draughts. While coffee-espresso bittering and kiln-smoked caramel malting stand out, it’s not particularly thick, rich, or creamy. Still, despite being ultra-smooth, it’s hardy to the bittersweet mocha-oiled finish.
