HITE PILSNER
Gentle hop bitterness overcomes dissipating barley, wheat, and rice sweetness, forming expected lean Asian beer template. Spring water freshness maintains crispness, but dulls the dry finish.
HOP BACK SUMMER LIGHTNING ALE
Decent straw-hazed white-headed bottle-conditioned golden ale maintains grassy hay waft, sunny citric disposition, anf flourishing floral bouquet. Snappy hop-embittered lemon-grapefruit tartness and mellow tobacco illusions secure light dewy finish, but fuzzy phenol persistence pilfers apple-orange snip.
HUDSON VALLEY AMBER ALE
Light aromatic malts, fuzzy carbolic hops, and sweet water base anchored by fine honeyed biscuit spine for extremely smooth moderately dry russet-hued treat. Brewery defunct: 2002.
(HUYGHE) ARTEVELDE GRAND CRU
Tawny French-styled ale plies tapered caramel-spiced raisin, prune and plum thrust to grapefruit peeled cherry-banana tartness. Vinous white grape esters and sour green apple tartness aid silken oak-dried burgundy finish.
IMPERIAL CERVEJA VIVA
Musty-scented pale yellow pilsner overlays softest grain whiskey assurance with peppery hop fizz and sharp carbonation for light-bodied dearth. Diacetyl butterscotch nuance plagued by harsh phenolic bluster.
IPSWICH WINTER ALE
Murky cinnamon-nutmeg aromatics, coarse mocha-dried bittering, anonymous maple-sugared fig-date sourness, and indiscernible winter accents deplete medicinal alcohol-doused medium body. A bit shallow beyond short malt-lacquered opening.
ISSAQUAH FROSTY FROG ALE
On tap, slow sippin’ off-dry American strong ale (brewed in conjunction with nearby Rogue Ales) brings thickening raisin-fig-date salvo to nutty-bottomed sugared molasses malting. Barleywine finish enhanced by brown chocolate snatch.
JACOBINS FRAMBOISE LAMBIC
Featuring odd pink-headed copper-bodied combination and natural fruit flavor, sour-fruited Belgian retains up-front raspberry theme and vinous white grape pucker to blanched black cherry soda finish. Could be more assertive considering lambic tag, but experienced drinkers should try it out.
JEROME CERVEZA ROJA
Inadequate dry moderation becomes acidic as washed-out orange candy blip, dried apple quip, and unripe cherry snip quickly recede to tinny void. Earthen backdrop obstructs tenuous spicing.
JOPEN ADRIAAN GRUIT WITBIER
Likable bottle-conditioned herb-spiced clear-hazed wheat beer with mild viscosity renders honeyed butterscotch regalia to dry coriander finish, picking up tobacco, tea, and lavender illusions. Beneath banana-breaded cracked wheat stipend lies lemony orange, peach, and grape tartness pleating sharp cider briskness.
