Wayward wintry IPA, reminiscent of dewy Extra Special Bitter, layers light pine wood paneling across roasted tobacco crisping as well as orange-dried lemon, pineapple, grapefruit and tangerine tartness. But brown-sugared cocoa interlude, timid caramel malting and ripe fig snip never reach sweet conclusion.
On tap at Ambulance, hybridized tripel brings musty barnyard rusticity of a dry farmhouse ale to the fore alongside lemony banana-peach sweetness, mild Belgian yeast-inspired herbal peppering and wispy citric-floral perfuming. Oats-dried pilsner malts provide light grain backdrop.
On tap at Cooper’s Seafood, subtle jalapeno peppering affects gentle blackberry-brandied twang and wispier grapefruit-orange licks. Mildly original.
