Insufficient unfiltered wheat dogged by sterile sourness and lack of substance. Fizz outlasts any faux-wheat presence and flaccid grain schmaltz.

OKOCIM KARMI LIGHT LAGER
Strangely weighty reddish brown malt liqueur-like light lager with aromatic molasses tinged by newly lit cigarette waft delivers unexpectedly overbearing egg-creamed maple syrup sweetness backed by raisin-ripened cola nuttiness. Sugary toffee stickiness turns dauntingly grape-soured by dank smoked finish, though damp tobacco leaf resonation and dry oats provide firm spine. Possibly too busy for its own good.
OLDE SARATOGA PREMIUM LAGER
OMMEGANG STOUT
Unexpected peat-mildewed earthen ash aromatics invite fertilizer comparisons whisked away by wood-smoked black chocolate linger and mildest espresso tease of deceptive cola-hued Irish dry stout. Powdered cocoa dryness gets peppery respite at thinning hop-toasted oats finish. Could use richer lactic resonation and more aggressive bittering.
OSKAR BLUES DALE’S PALE ALE
OTTER CREEK PALE ALE
(OTTO BROTHERS) MOOSE JUICE STOUT
Assertive mineral-grained richness pushes back carbolic fizz as roasted chocolate busyness and mild hazelnut dab penetrate strong, acetous port-like finish. A veritable smorgasbord of spicy adjuncts cluster serene mocha resilience, making this a virtual buffet in a bottle. Regrettably, Moosehead Brewery threatened legal action for copyright infringement, making this temporarily extinct. Local Wyoming brewer, Grand Teton, now brews ’em.
(PANTHER) CURLY’S LIGHT PREMIUM PILSNER
PAULANER MUNICH PREMIUM LAGER
A classic German lager! Doughy French-breaded baguette frontage secured by musty hop spicing to honeyed wheat spine of soft-watered moderate-bodied helles lager. Crisp, clean moderation finishes with salted cracker neutrality. Thin mocha undercoating fades to oblivion. Not complex by any stretch, but its underlying barley-rice easement, buttered popcorn midst and gently bitter dried fruit banter will suit softer tastes.
PELICAN MAC PELICAN’S SCOTTISH STYLE ALE
PENTANGEL SUPERIOR ENGLISH ALE
Charging more for 11-ounce (instead of twelve) 4 pack (‘stead of 6), bold amber compares favorably to Samuel Smith (though it’s a half-level below) and its regal name matches its ‘Superior’ affluence. Barley roasted chocolate hazelnut and mild apple-plum dalliance sweeten palate. Firm yeast foundation solidifies its base.
PETE’S WICKED MUNICH STYLE HELLES LAGER
Plain German knockoff fails to deliver. Foamy hop bitterness, thin malt sweetness, and perky berry moderation barely enliven flaccid grain finish, as delicate apricot tones and musty tangerine scent get lost in the shuffle. Only amateur pilsner fans ready to take off their Bud/ Miller training wheels need apply.
