On tap at Ambulance, interestingly abstruse double dry-hopped cocktail collaboration (with Copenhagen’s Dry & Bitter) connects rummy coconut-milked pineapple juicing of a pina colada with orange-juiced champagne fizz of a mimosa. Brisk lemony grapefruit zest secures IPA-styled midst. Light pilsner malting softens ester-fruited English ale yeast setting.
Stiff vodka kick rampages alongside candy-glazed tropical fruiting and understated clay-hopped pine needling. Advertised wet-wooded hop ‘dankness’ is nearly a misnomer. Instead, sugar-coated grapefruit, orange, tangerine, pineapple and mango tanginess battles back rubbing alcohol burn (13% ABV). Musky fennel, rosemary (?), hibiscus and ethyl undertones go awry.
Remarkably refreshing straw beige-hazed medium body maintains hearty robustness – especially for a fruity Citra-hopped IPA. Spritzy lemon zest brightens tart grapefruit juicing and mild lime acidity while spicy candy-glazed pineapple, orange, tangerine and peach tanginess adds punch. Tropical fruit blitz overrides mild herbal restraint and barley-floured caramel malting.
On tap at Poor Henry’s, tartly citric double dry-hopped India Pale Ale tosses lime and orange zest at soapy lychee-perfumed melon rind pulping and dank piney hop oiling. Candied citrus tartness sustains above delicate pale malting.
On tap at Poor Henry’s, tropical moderation nearly as soft and billowy as its namesake. Frothily creamed head hides subtle clementine, mandarin orange and grapefruit tang as well as tart gooseberry liming and light herbal hop bittering. Tingly spiced citrus continuance reaches gentle oats base with sweetly aired lilt.
On tap at Seven Lakes Station, easygoing moderation evenly spreads tangy grapefruit, orange and pineapple juiciness across sweetly spiced pale malts and salty citric hop bittering.
Uniformly designed, though underwhelming and undetermined, midrange centrist. Lemony orange-grapefruit tang and candied citric-spiced lollipop tartness tepidly advance to contrast grassy herbal hop astringency and resinous pine snip.
Thinnish English-styled IPA enlightens the front end with bright citrus tang. But its subdued grapefruit-orange stead and tart lemon rot souring lack immediacy. And any English influence (such as dewy earthen mustiness, biscuity pale malting and musky herbal hop rusticity) is negligible.
On tap at Ambulance, herbal citrus-spiced Nugget hops provide mildly bitter resonance for slightly acidic medium body. Floral-wafted pineapple, peach, tangerine and mandarin orange tang stays subtle alongside refreshing evergreen nip.
On tap at Ambulance, smoothly resilient Mosaic-hopped IPA retains dry mouthfeel as dewy moss and resinous pine sop up large yellow grapefruit contingent and tangy orange respite. Ancillary mango, papaya and pineapple tropicalia seep thru.
On tap at Taphouse 15, soft-tongued ‘earthy tropical ambrosia’ leads the way for pleasantly mild ‘citrus meringue.’ Lightly spiced orange-candied lemondrop souring and ancillary mango-passionfruit-pineapple-papaya thrust secured by resinous pine-oiled pale malting.
