(DARK HORSE) CROOKED TREE I.P.A.

Understated beige-headed copper-bronzed citric-hopped bitter adjoins sweet spruce waft and snappy juniper sharpness to piney cedar finish, gaining sharp tangerine-grapefruit-peach illusions along toasted barleymalt trail. Only drawback is watery nature. ’12 re-tasting: gentle stylistic changeup envelops fresh spring-watered minerality with white-peppered grapefruit-peeled lemon pith bittering. Mild orange-tangerine spritz drapes tertiary mango-pineapple wisp.

DARK HORSE RESERVE SPECIAL BLACK BIER ALE

Luxuriantly robust ink black ‘Reserve Special’ schwarzbier pours like motor oil and retains genuine lactose stout traits. Creamy black chocolate endurance and flaked oat foundation fully enriched by roasted hop-charred cappuccino, espresso, and coffee ground bittering. Thick tar-like molasses flow picks up black licorice, currant, smoked cedar, and raspberry puree illusions ahead of maraschino cherry blurt. Dark rum and dry burgundy notes detected in deep recess.
