CORONADO GOLDEN ALE
Soapy light-bodied Euro-styled ale-aged pilsner varied in quality from one bottle to next. Dry lemongrass souring and slight curacao orange waver mollify pumpernickel backend as fizzy hops blindside honeyed oats and milled barley. Nasty vegetal cabbage-like skunking ruined one sample.
CORONA EXTRA PILSENER
The poor sister to Modelo Especial Pale Lager much like Busch is to Michelob. Typically light, watery, fizzy Mexican pils with agave splash mired by unobtrusive neutrality; skunked if warmed (so drink quickly!). Better canned version deletes dreary Tequila dash for richer grain husk and slight yellow fruit dalliance blue collar Americans favor. Try with lemon slice over seafood dinner.
CORAL CERVEJA
Fresh tobacco aroma and lemony hop spritz introduce light-bodied pilsner. Subdued smoked spices echo across lingered butterscotch range.
COORS EXTRA GOLD LAGER
Nasty corn-oiled lager with cloying glutinous wheat backdrop truly sucks. But 30-packs found for $15 will please indigent vagrants and high school dorks alike.
(COORS) ASPEN EDGE LIGHT LAGER
Ridiculous low-carb craze brought forth this sharply crisp fizz water mediocrity that betters competing Michelob Ultra. But dry wheat shard, faded Scotch twang, and meagerly citric ping bereft of malt-yeast resolve.
COOPERSTOWN STRIKE OUT STOUT
Phenol prune-hued dry stout gains toasted malt assertion and prickly hop fizz to contrast creamy coffee bean, espresso and black chocolate vibe. Defiant black tar finish embitters subsidiary roasted nuttiness.
(COOPERSTOWN) STRIKER BROWN ALE
Bland dry-bodied maroon-hued garnet-highlighted dark amber ale brings cocoa frontage and dismal powdered chocolate plunk to sour-fruited funk. Phenol finish gets metallic, agitating clumped lactose froth, coarse vegetal graining and fleeting cola stint.
COOPERSTOWN PRIDE OF MILFORD ALE
Heavily hopped spiciness and frisky carbolic fizz reminiscent of heartier red ales sets sail above 7% alcohol strength. Grainy earthiness and smoked barleymalts maintain luster to fine sour fruited finish. Reticent bitter nuttiness barely registers.
COOPERSTOWN OLD SLUGGER PALE ALE
Dedicated to baseball, this Hall of Fame ale may only be aesthetically middle of the road, but it’ll please lowest common denominator Bud drinkers in a heartbeat. Lively carbolic pep greets the senses, followed by variable mocha, molasses, and nut hints. Lingering hops enliven dry finish. Those who cannot appreciate well-crafted microbrews will enjoy its wispy satisfaction.
(COOPERSTOWN) NINE MAN ALE
Serviceable golden ale salutes dubious baseball founder, Abner Doubleday, underscoring roasted barleymalts and toasted hops with muted orange rind, sour apple and spiced peach illusions. Dry phenol finish flattens caramel-toffee tinge as floral bitterness fades.
COOPERSTOWN BENCHWARMER PORTER
Deep tan-headed dark brown porter with heady mocha latte palate, pleasant hop bitterness, and rich coffee finish offers stiff bite. Mellow chocolate undercurrent complements obtrusive heaviness.
