On tap at Kitchen & Beer Bar, durable Massachusetts/Maine NEIPA collab serenades lemony orange-peeled pineapple, peach and grapefruit tang with lacquered pine tones and floral-spiced pale malts. Lacks sour guava-gooseberry tropicality of slightly better stylistic New England moderations.
On tap at Ambulance, lovely bourbon barrel aged barleywine sashays luscious ‘whiskey, rum and sherry’ subtleties thru toffee-spiced brown chocolate sweetness, gaining bourbon vanilla, bruised black cherry, buttered pecan and candied butterscotch illusions for spirited 13% ABV elixir.
Easygoing clear straw double dry-hopped IPA collaboration with Hoof Hearted utilizes limey pink guava and grapefruit adjuncts for clean entry. Slight gin-soaked agave influence adds to the well hidden 8.5% ABV.
On tap at Growler & Gill, creamily fudged mahogany-hued nitro porter resounds as smoky maple-sugared buckwheat pancake battering enjoins pastry-caked cookie dough richness of sweet breakfast treat. Nitrogenation provides smooth flow for otherwise syrupy molasses-like seduction. Ancillary glazed chocolate donut, chocolate babka, cocoa nibs and vanilla illusions broaden scope even further.
Casually unassuming and likably straightforward, dry-hopped moderation never goes out of its way to be anything other than a world class pale ale. Sunny yellow grapefruit tang, zesty lemon spritz, brisk navel orange sweetness and pale malt spicing contrast dank pine resin in crisply clean mineral water setting. Mild peach, mango, tangerine and guava tropicalia provides further depth.
Rich peanut-buttered dark chocolate template receives Cocoa Puffs, black coffee, molasses bread and seared walnut illusions reinforced by moderate hop char. Not unlike a liquid Reece’s Pieces candy bar, though its fluffy carbolic frisk thins out some of its peanut butter resonance. Competition for admirable peanut-buttered porter, Duclaw’s Sweet Baby Jesus!
