EVIL TWIN GRAND CRU CUVEE MAPLE BOURBON AND MARSALA WINE BARREL AGED STOUT AND BARLEYWINE
On tap at Poor Henry’s, highly complex Imperial Stout/ barleywine blend soaked with maple bourbon syrup then aged in brandied marsala wine barrels lets spiced wine licks receive dark cherry, plum and raisin subtleties as well as oaken vanilla tannins above its bittersweet chocolate malt base. Champagne-wined cuvee influence is minimal.

TAYLOR & SONS CANOOSKI COFFEE PORTER
COMMON ROOTS SHADOW FIGURES PORTER
Advertised chocolate, coffee and caramel roast underwhelm, contrasted by soiled moss, Blackstrap molasses and ashen pine bitterness that eliminates much of its barren sweet side. Oily hop resin drips off earthy wood-seared walnut char as coffee-roasted dark chocolate bittering surges. Mild cola, hazelnut and Brazil nut illusions deepen nutty aspect to complement its wavered caramel-burnt mocha aspect.

KNEE DEEP NEW AIRPORTER
On tap at Ambulance, dry dark chocolate and drier cocoa powdering gain oily hop-charred nuttiness in medium-bodied dark ale setting. Wispy raw molasses bittering seeps into coffee-burnt mocha midst to contrast less enthralled almond-pecan-chestnut sweetness . Bitterer robust stout fans unite.

ANGRY ERIK MAXWELL HEAVY SCOTCH ALE
CZIG MEISTER SEONAIDH BOURBON AGED WEE HEAVY ALE
THE BRUERY WETHER BOCK
FIRESTONE WALKER AGRESTIC
On tap at Morris Tap & Grill, ‘synergistic blend’ of rosewood-embittered French oak barrel aging and lactic microflora-enhanced brettanomyces yeast combine for vinous green grape tannins, sharply soured lemon lime pucker and balmy Seville orange-oiled Earl Grey tea tartness to flourish.
NAP TIME MAP OF 49’S DREAM BROWN ALE
On tap at Ambulance, dark-roasted black chocolate bittering confronts brazenly walnut-seared peanut shelling over ashen piney hops. In the backdrop, light cocoa-seeded pungency contrasts tingly fennel-seeded spicing for nutty tough guy.

BARRIER ATYPICAL OAK-AGED INDIA PALE ALE
On tap at Poor Henry’s, soft nitro-like plushness of oaken vanilla tannins sidle lightly creamed lemon meringue tartness, musky orange oils and dank hop resin. Tertiary apricot, tangerine and Chardonnay illusions waver. Atypical as far as IPA’s go, but quite approachable for more adventurous pale ale buds.
BELL’S HOPSLAM ALE
On tap at Ambulance, wonderful dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale with a ‘dollop of honey’ spreads its complexities all over the place. Floral grapefruit-peeled orange tang, zesty lemon briskness and sticky pine resin of a sharp-toned IPA spark the front end while dried-fruited apricot, plum and fig illusions plus tertiary pineapple-peach-tangerine snips soak into the dewy earthen mustiness ransacked by rummy vodka-licked Scotch malt assertiveness (leaving a boozy alcohol astringency upon the expansive finish).
