On tap at Andy’s Corner Bar, fluffily cream-headed moderate-to-medium body delivers citrus-spiced Mosaic-Cascade hop zestiness and mild wood-dried Amarillo-Columbus hop bittering to biscuit wheat-honeyed English pale malting. Witheringly lemon-dropped mandarin orange, tangerine, pineapple and mango tang needs more punch.

Devilishly delicious Halloween ’17 treat (with hellish 6.66% ABV) plies cereal-grained cookie dough yeast to fruit-spiced center and mild pine resin. Initial caramel apple sweetness seeps into Bosc pear, peach and cherry illusions as well as tangier floral-bound orange, mango and tangerine tropicalia. Sweet toffee-like malting adds candied coating to terrific medium-bodied red ale.

On tap at Growler & Gill, updated 2017 version lists ‘Belgian-style’ on amber ale label. Closer to a straight-up Belgian dark ale than its lighter pale style, its beet-sugared prune-raisin, apricot and banana sweetness contrasts lightly vinous red wining, whiskey-daubed medicinal hints and wispy acidic solvency. Dewy peat earthiness provides fertile base.

Marvelous Columbian coffee roast picks up slickly creamed cocoa nibs influence, vanilla bourbon sweetness, dainty chicory snip and toasted marshmallow reminder while a ‘touch of lactose milk sugaring’ dries out at the mocha-rich finish.

On tap at Shepherd & Knucklehead – Haledon, smoothly creamed malt-smoked Bakers chocolate tone gains syrupy raw molasses bittering and nutty espresso enticement, inducing mild port, burgundy and bourbon illusions above oats-charred base. Re-tasting at Taphouse 15 revealed tertiary dark cherry, toasted coconut and vanilla bean whims as well.

Fudgy chocolate continuance gains cocoa and coffee tones as well as rum-soaked port, burgundy and brandy wining and latent black cherry puree influence for admirable 10.5% ABV nightcap.
