On tap at Liberty Craft House, suspect doppel-hefe combo never truly connects both German styles. But its hefe-like banana breading and clove-cinnamon-nutmeg spicing and bock-like toffee-cocoa-pecan conflux offer pleasantries for sweet-toothed brewhounds.

On tap at Poor Henry’s, easygoing dry-hopped kettle-soured Berliner Weiss lets juicy lemon-lime tartness receive salty lactobacillus leathering. Sour wheat desiccation lingers below as wispy woodruff, lemongrass and lavender tones fade.

On tap at Ambulance, mild blood orange tartness gains salty peppered coriander spicing and oaken vanilla esters. Wispy mandarin orange and yellow grapefruit illusions suffice for placid blood orange adjunct.
LOGSDON PECHE ‘N BRETT FARMHOUSE ALE
On tap at Ambulance, engaging brettanomyces-aged sour saison (with hidden 10.1% ABV) loads sweet ‘n sour peach tones onto oaken bark-dried earthiness and dank barnyard cellaring. Lemony peach pit pucker gains sour edge reinforced by mildly creamed acidulated malting.

On tap at Sogo, pale-yellowed sour ale drapes mild brettanomyces musk atop cologne-perfumed lemon balm and herbal lemongrass-basil-oregano conflux. Tart lemon-dropped mandarin orange, green apple, tangerine and pineapple illusions receive barnyard-dried wild oats, spelt and alfalfa minerality. In the can, dry Mosaic hop tropicalia gains perfumed lemon balming, vinous green grape souring and funky herbal respite.
J. WAKEFIELD TONY BAG O’ DONUTS SOUR ALE WITH PASSIONFRUIT
On tap at Ambulance, fine collaboration with LIC Beer Project puts mildly acidic passionfruit sourness and brisk lemony guava-kumquat tartness ahead of dextrin-like pilsner malts. Dry herb-tinged barnyard backdrop soaks up sweet ‘n sour tropical fruiting towards the finish.

On tap at Ambulance, interestingly idiosyncratic collaboration between DC, North Carolina and Texas breweries. Gin-inspired saison leaves juniper branch-watered briskness upon dry-hopped citrus bittering. Zesty lemon juicing picks up dried lime souring and sharp yellow grapefruit rind piquancy. Like sippin’ on gin ‘n juice.

On tap at Sogo, “classic” saison adds mild peach adjunct to usual lemon-soured herbal musk and floral white-peppered hop spicing as well as cotton-candied banana and clove sweetness (and wispy mandarin orange sedation).
OEC VILLA DOMUS
On tap at Ambulance, dryly sour saison (aged in neutral oak barrels) utilizes black-peppered grains of paradise spicing to scour barnyard-desiccated spelt and oats graining as mild brettanomyces funk provides sufficient acidity. Carbolic lemon spritz, green apple tartness, green grape esters and wispy passionfruit snips lightly affect piquant grains of paradise juicing.
CIGAR CITY CESTERO DOUBLE IPA
Intensified dry-hopped IPA brings candied pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, clementine and navel orange sweetness as well as tangy peach tones to sugar-spiced pale malting. Moderate wood-stained pine resin and grassy hop astringency provide contrast.
